Raipur | Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday praised the passage of the Waqf Amendment Bill, highlighting its overwhelming approval in the Lok Sabha and its potential benefits for the Muslim community.

"Yesterday, the Waqf Bill was passed with a huge majority in the Lok Sabha. The proceedings of the House continued until late last night," Sai stated, underlining the extensive discussion and support the bill received.

He further emphasized that the legislation aims to strengthen the management and governance of Waqf properties, ensuring their proper utilization for the welfare of the Muslim community. "This will greatly benefit the Muslim community living in our country," he added.

The bill seeks to introduce greater transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the administration of Waqf assets, addressing long-standing issues related to their regulation. The passage of the bill has sparked mixed reactions, with supporters hailing it as a step toward better governance, while critics have raised concerns over its implications.
