BY A STAFF REPORTER: At least 25 people, including three foreigners, were injured in a shooting at a university in the Czech capital Prague that killed 14 people. It was one of the deadliest attacks in the Czech Republic in recent years.
"The Prague police worked through the night and 13 of the dead have been identified," Minister Vit Racusan said. Among the injured were three foreigners - two from Saudi Arabia and one from the Netherlands. "
Prague police chief Martin Vondracek said the incident took place on Thursday at Charles University's Faculty of Arts. The gunman was also killed, authorities said. His name has not been released. Authorities have warned that the death toll could rise.
On Friday, police said they had beefed up security at schools and other "soft targets" as a preventive measure. The university rectors also said they will work with police experts on further preventive measures to enhance security around the campus.
