In Ukraine, a military recruitment officer accused of mass embezzlement has been arrested and a lawmaker accused of collaborating with Russia has been arrested.

Last month, the president announced plans to audit military draft offices to root out corruption. The move was part of Ukraine's long-standing policy of cleaning up military and government departments to show Western supporters that are a key component of the long process of EU membership.

"Ordinary Ukrainians who supported the war effort were outraged by corruption," Zelensky said. "
