By A Staff Reporter: Law and order is a state subject and para military forces are at the disposal of the local police authorities, clarified BSF chief Nitin Agarwal. Speaking exclusively over phone to ANM News, the director general of BSF mentioned that para military forces cannot arrest nor act unilaterally without the authority of state police.
“The state police and the state election commission has not even shared details of sensitive booths and deployment schedule with us. It is the job of the state police and SEC to make the use of the paramilitary forces and ensure free and fair polls,” Agarwal said. BSF sources alleged that most of para military forces were not properly utilised by the state police and SEC. There are certain procedures laid out in the law and we have to follow it, BSF chief said.
