Fear of tomato fever grips Kerala
By a Staff Reporter: Tomato Fever, a disease that primarily affects kids under the age of five, has been spreading throughout the state of Kerala. A tiny portion of Kollam currently has the virus, but experts have warned that it could spread. While some reports suggest that the illness has only caused 80 cases to date in the state, others go as high as 100. The State's residents were cautioned not to worry earlier in May by the Health Minister because tomato fever is an endemic disease in Kerala.
People were alarmed by the flu since it was particularly dangerous for young children under the age of five. The illness is known as "Tomato fever" because those who have it frequently develop red, tomato-shaped blisters on their bodies.
The symptoms include red skin blisters, skin irritation, joint discomfort, runny nose, high fever, nausea, coughing, body aches, sneezing, diarrhoea, and exhaustion.

•     Ensure that there is social distance between kids and between kids and the people who look after them outside the home.

•    Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene is crucial. Keep your kids' beds, rooms, bathrooms, and toys tidy and sanitary. They frequently have diaper changes.

•    Don't let youngsters share their possessions during an outbreak.

•    Allow your youngster to rest at home and keep them away from crowds for a few days if you see any minor symptoms in them.
•    Teach your children to refrain from touching their face, eyes, or nose in public.
