New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed his government’s commitment to Bihar’s development, announcing the approval of the Kosi-Mechi Intra-State Link Project under the Prime Minister’s Agricultural Irrigation Scheme. The project aims to improve irrigation facilities and enhance farmers’ income in the region.
Taking to social media, PM Modi stated, “We are committed to the all-round development of Bihar. In this series, approval has been given today to the Kosi-Mechi Intra-State Link Project under the Prime Minister’s Agricultural Irrigation Scheme. This will not only provide water for irrigation to a large area but also increase the income of our farmer brothers and sisters.”
The Kosi-Mechi project is expected to significantly enhance water availability for agricultural purposes in Bihar, ensuring better crop yields and stability for farmers. The initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of strengthening rural infrastructure and promoting sustainable agriculture through efficient water management.
Experts believe this project will be crucial in mitigating the effects of water scarcity in the region, providing a boost to Bihar’s agrarian economy. The government has been actively pushing for irrigation reforms to ensure that farmers receive adequate water supply, reducing their dependency on unpredictable monsoons.
