Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane is set to visit Manila on September 11, 2024, to co-chair the fifth meeting of the India-Philippines Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC), according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence. The meeting will focus on deepening and consolidating defence cooperation between the two nations.
During his visit, Aramane will hold discussions on expanding bilateral defence partnerships and explore new areas for collaboration in the strategic and security domains. The meeting aims to strengthen existing ties and develop new frameworks for mutual defence interests.
In addition to co-chairing the JDCC meeting, the Defence Secretary is also expected to engage with other key government dignitaries in the Philippines. These discussions will further enhance diplomatic relations and contribute to regional stability.
The visit underscores India's commitment to fostering strong defence partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region, with the Philippines being a crucial partner in this regard.
