By a Staff Reporter: A deadly explosion occurred near a Shiite Muslim shrine in the suburbs of the Syrian capital Damascus on Thursday. The explosion was reportedly caused by an explosive device planted in a taxi.

The blast, a day before the holy day of Ashura, caused a stir in Damascus. It is known that 5 people have been killed in this incident so far. Besides, 26 others are seriously injured and undergoing treatment. As a result, it is feared that the death toll may increase.
