BADLI, DELHI – In a charged address at a poll rally in Badli, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of attempting to undermine India’s Constitution and its founding values.

Gandhi took aim at BJP's aspirations for a 400-seat victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, claiming their real motive was to dismantle the Constitution crafted by Dr. BR Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi.

"PM Modi and BJP wanted 400 seats because they wanted to abolish the Constitution of Dr BR Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi," Gandhi said, asserting that their intentions went beyond mere electoral success and were aimed at eroding India's foundational principles.

He also referred to a recent statement by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, who controversially claimed that India didn’t truly achieve independence in 1947 but only after Modi came to power. Gandhi emphasized this as proof that the BJP and its affiliates do not believe in the Constitution or the historical significance of India’s independence.

“This shows that they don’t believe in the Constitution,” Gandhi concluded, reigniting the debate over the ideological conflict between the Congress and the BJP ahead of the crucial 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.
