Modi surname controversy: Rahul again in Big trouble

Gujarat court passes verdict on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Earlier in the day. Rahul Gandhi filed a major setback in the Gujarat High Court. Gujarat High Court on Friday dismissed Rahul Gandhi's review petition in a defamation case against his remarks on the 'Modi surname'.
On April 13, ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had issued a statement on the 'Modi surname'. On March 23, the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Surat convicted Rahul Gandhi under sections 499 and 500 (criminal defamation) of the Indian Penal Code and sentenced him to two years in jail in a case filed by Gujarat BJP MLA Purnesh Modi in 2019.
