BY A STAFF REPORTER: West Bengal governor C.V. Ananda Bose during his Sandeshkali visit on Monday assured that the perpetrators of Sandeshkali violence will be punished as per the constitution.
Moreover, he expressed grief on witnessing the miseries of Sandeshkali residents. Bose categorically stated that the authorities will collaborate with the democratically elected government and tackle the situation. Bose further shared the stories of assault and torture that the residents endured in the last few days. "Imagine a happy home, husband and wife, grown-up children including girl children. Some goons come from inside the house, catch hold of the girl child, assault the wife in front of the husband, and beat up the husband...This is no fiction. This is what I was told happened in this village in the last few days. They know who did this" he added.
C.V. Ananda Bose cut short his Kerala program to visit violence-hit Sandeshkali on 12th February, Monday.
The situation in Sandeshkali remains serious as the violent clashes and protests have caused unrest in the town. Moreover, a Senior CPM leader has been arrested in connection with protests.
